Graduate School Alliance for Executive Coaching

Membership

GSAEC membership is encouraged and available for academic institutions. Initial projects involve establishing a consensus on the knowledge base for executive and organizational coaching, and defining curricula standards for graduate academic courses and programs. GSAEC also links with and exchanges knowledge and experience with similar academic standard-setting organizations for executive and organizational coaching around the globe.

Why do graduate institutions join GSAEC?

  • To be on the leading edge of a new intellectual frontier.
  • To learn what other institutions are doing regarding coaching and coach education.
  • To develop and establish academic standards for coach education.
  • To align with a group that shares a common purpose and characteristics.
  • To collaborate and share ideas about best practices in executive, organizational, and leadership coaching.
  • To co-create the future of graduate-level coaching.
  • To develop and enjoy the synergistic impact of sharing resources among institutions.
  • To engage in research regarding the development of coaches, the practice of coaching, and the discipline of the field of coaching studies.
  • To gain access to information about relevant events and opportunities.
  • To bring together colleagues for networking in an academic field that is relatively sparsely populated.
  • To shape the future of a profession.
  • To provide representatives with the opportunity to meet and establish relationships with scholars who represent professions outside their usual contacts.
  • To be open to influence from and to offer influences to a broad range of scholars, researchers, and academic colleagues.
  • To help legitimize coaching within the institution and with other academics.
  • To make linkages throughout the world.
